With the support of the Ball Horticultural Company and Dickman Farms in Auburn NY, the Thousand Islands Bridge Authority is able to plant approximately 20,000 individual plants in multiple gardens throughout Heart Island. These colorful and aromatic displays decorate Boldt Castle’s grounds each season. For many, these enchanting displays are highlights of their visits!
While exploring this historic, gilded age estate you will discover numerous gardens, of varying styles and sizes, across the islands’ 5 acres. Many gardens depict hearts, clovers and even messages that help tell the infamous love story of George and Louise Boldt.
No tour of the grounds is complete without a visit to our recently renovated Italian Gardens. This picturesque location contains beautiful marble statuary representing the four seasons and its own fountain centerpiece! Among New York’s 1000 Islands, this has become a go-to spot for those looking to propose to that special someone in a unforgettable setting!
